Southern Caribbean Cruise 2011

I am a little behind and I am writing this just as I am about to head out on our next vacation.  Spring Break in Panama City Beach, Florida--we will see if this was a mistake when we get back with all the Spring Breakers.  The today show announced it was one of the top 5 beaches in the United States.....

So onto our Southern Caribbean Cruise.  Even though this was my 12th cruise, I learn something every time.  We went with our good friends Ryan and Heather Johnson.  We were defiantly destined to cruise together.

We stayed at the Marriott on Saturday night and took a Taxi to the ship.  It was about $20 for the 4 of us.  Here are a bunch of pictures from out trip.

Tip #1--Most of our travel is done on Southwest airlines.  However, they don't fly into Puerto Rico.  We flew into Orlando and got cheap flights to Puerto Rico on Jet Blue.  They were only $79 each way.  Orlando is the cheapest place to fly to Puerto Rico in Florida.  All other cities were about $250

This is one of our favorite things about Carnival--Sushi every night!  So yummy.  We have converted Ryan and Heather!

This is part of the adults only deck

Megan's Bay on St Thomas

Tip #2--If you can rent a car.  You will pay about the same price as taking a taxi.  On one island the steering wheel was on the right side and we drove on the left.  It took a little while getting used to and a few mistakes but we found uninhabited beaches, got lost in the "ghettos" and got "off the main."  We made it back safely each time!

Tip #3--DO NOT let these guys trap you into putting monkey's on your head.  They want $20 bucks!  I don't think so!

Waiting for dinner on deck while watching TV on the big screen outside!

Late seating dinner (I swear by it)

Tip #4--if you are ever in St Marteen this is a bucket list MUST.  Roger and Ryan braved the Jet Blast of a plane taking off.  Look this up on You Tube.  It is amazing.

I had these made up for both of us before our trip.  I printed them out on magnet paper to put on our doors.  The doors were not metal so they did not stick.  But we had tape and that worked.  We always knew where our rooms were!

We had so much fun!  We can't wait to cruise with them again!
