Panama City--Florida April 2011

What a fabulous place.  If you cannot get to the Caribbean then come to Panama City Beach!  White sand beaches, clear blue warm water, condo right on the beach--what more could you ask for?  This trip was our family-Mom and Gary.

We flew into Jacksonville, Florida because we had a few free tickets that we needed to use before they expired.  There were no flights into Panama City for free flights.  We rented a mini van and drove the 5 hours the next day.  It worked out perfect!  Roger and Sydney had to do a seminar in Detroit at the last minute (well Roger had to do it and Sydney flies free on his companion pass so she goes where he goes--she loved being able to be the only one to go with dad!  She has become quite the seminar helper!)

Our condo was right on the beach!  We were on the 16th floor which gave us a great view of the beach and ocean.  When we stay at condos we always cook breakfast/lunch and dinners.  But we do leave a few days to go out to fun places we see in town.  We have come up with a menu that is quick and yummy.  We also pack a suitcase of food that we will need just a smidge of here and there.  This works as long as we fly southwest airlines were bags are free!

Here is a list of some of our breakfast/lunches and dinners:
1.  Fish tacos  (with fish-sticks)
2.  Spagetti
3.  Hamburgers
4.  Chicken
5.  pancakes
6.  french toast
7.  egg/bacon/hashbrowns
8.  cold cereal

This was basically a relaxing trip.  Because we mostly ate at the condo, we had leftover money to play a little.  We let the kids to the trampoline jump, go-kart racing, and spent a day at "Gulf World."  But the favorite part of the trip for the kids was boogy-boarding in the ocean!  This was a new experience for them.  My aunt who lives about 2 hours from there met us there for the weekend and brought the boogy boards to us.  FREE!

We were thrilled one morning when the local dolphins played outside our window for hours!  What a treat!

I was a little worried about Spring beak!  But we were on the tail end of it and did not see too many spring breakers except on the weekends.

This was defiantly one of our favorite trips!
